Position Summary
The Upper School English Teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and rigorous English instruction to Upper School students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a dynamic English curriculum that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love of literature.
- Assign and assess student work, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Build positive relationships with students and parents to support academic and personal
growth.
- Maintain a structured, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Contribute to the English Department’s collaborative goals and initiatives.
- Engage in the broader school community through student advising, clubs, coaching, mentoring,
or other extracurricular activities.

Position Details
- Employment Type: Full-time, 10-month, Exempt
- Benefits: Eligible
- Breaks: Two weeks off for winter and spring breaks
- Compensation: $46,000–$64,000 annual salary
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed in a classroom setting.
- Frequent movement within and between buildings.
- Regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers.
