Alfred Health Radiation Oncology (AHRO), a unit of Alfred Cancer, provides a full range of general radiation oncology and radiation therapy services in addition to some specialized services with both state and national significance. Services include external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy and superficial modalities. The Department is equipped with modern linear accelerators with surface guided imaging, stereotactic capabilities and the ability to deliver VMAT, DIBH, EEBH and IGRT techniques. AHRO has sites located at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne (Alfred Radiation Oncology – ARO) and at Latrobe Regional Health, Traralgon (Gippsland Radiation Oncology – GRO).
Location Summary
The Latrobe Regional Health is located in the only regional city in eastern Victoria. Latrobe City consists of many small townships the main towns of Moe, Morwell and Traralgon.
Gippsland Radiation Oncology is situated at the Latrobe Regional Health site in Traralgon, Latrobe Valley.

The Role
The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) works closely with the multidisciplinary Radiation Oncology team to provide a flexible and responsive service that works to meet each patient’s needs. The position is responsible for but not limited to administrative and clinical support functions, which assist with patient management and contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team. This role provides support to the broader multidisciplinary team including the Radiation Therapists, Medical Physics, Administration, Nursing and the Booking Coordinator role at GRO with clinical and program related activities.

Essential
Qualifications and Experience Required
Previous experience in a health care setting would be considered relevant as would qualifications in medical radiation sciences, biomedical sciences, laboratory sciences or similar

- Current and satisfactory Police Check
