Peer Workforce Trainer
REPORTS TO: VP, Peer Workforce, Trainings and Interventions
SUPERVISEES: Student Interns
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time Regular, Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Trainer will develop and deliver training curriculum for a variety of
Alliance agency demands and needs aimed at educating community members, staff, peer educators
and volunteers on topics related to HIV/AIDS, substance use, harm reduction, and related health
issues. The Trainer will work closely with program managers and other stakeholders to ensure that
training materials are current, relevant, and impactful.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Other duties as required to meet the mission of the agency and/or Peer Workforce, Trainings
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in public health, Education, Social Work, or related field and
three years’ experience in training, education, or related field preferable within a community health
setting. Master’s degree preferred. Computer literacy essential. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite;
Salesforce; PeerPlace; and Alchemer a plus. Strong understanding of HIV/AIDS, ETE initiative,
substance use, harm reduction, and related health issues. Strong oral and written communication
skills, strong coordination and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects is
essential. Must have developed and written curriculum that includes clear goals and objectives,
incorporates current research, and addresses various adult learning styles, including integrating
activities such as ice breakers, brainstorming sessions, small group activities, polls, tests, quizzes,
and carousel activities. Relevant certifications in health education or training are a plus. Belief in
Alliance’s mission and work is desirable. Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
