Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. You must be able to take measurements and work independently in a faced paced environment. Duties
- Perform alterations on various types of formal wears (including bridal dresses, bridal party dresses, mother of the bride dresses, prom dresses, tuxedos, and accessories), ensuring precise measurements and fit.
- Utilize sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to execute repairs and modifications.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate styles and alterations, providing expert advice on garment care.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
- Keep accurate records of alterations, including customer preferences and special requests.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in garment construction, with a strong understanding of sewing techniques.
- Background in fashion retail is preferred, enhancing the ability to connect with customers effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming environment for clients.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations during the tailoring process.
- Familiarity with operating sewing machines and other tailoring equipment is essential.
- A passion for sewing and fashion is highly desirable, contributing to the overall success of our tailoring services.
