What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at The Amenity Collective?
The Amenity Collective is North America's leading provider of full-service facilities management across the aquatics, fitness, and recreations industries. We are seeking a Corporate Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting and its related processes that is complimented by a demonstrated ability to increase efficiency, process improvement and standardization within their function. An individual fully performing in this role would be a trusted advisor to their finance partners and operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounting policies and process: Own companywide accounting policy and compliance inclusive of creating new policies and updating existing ones. Maintain a centralized library of organizational wide policies and procedures with memos created for policy exceptions.
- Oversight of enterprise-wide banking functions: Oversee the relationship management, administration and controls for the Companys banking relationships. Provide excellent customer service to the Companys operations on banking help desk tickets. Oversee enterprise-wide cash deposits. Ensure centralized supplier payments are disbursed on-time and supplier set-up controls are followed.
- Sales and use tax filings: Oversee the process for all sales and use tax ensuring timely filings.
- Lead audit efforts: In charge of the financial statement, insurance, IRS, and state tax audits.
- Process improvement and automation: Transform, historical high volume repetitive accounting processes.
- System implementation support: Assist with company-wide system implementations that will impact daily accounting activities. Providing subject matter expert support on control considerations, US GAAP, and impacts to Workday Financials.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong accounting acumen: Proficient in US GAAP with demonstrated ability to connect accounting outcomes with the daily operating activities of the business to achieve the optimal outcome.
- Continuous improvement mindset: Transform historical high volume, repetitive accounting processes to more efficient, technology driven solutions. Apply highest and best use thinking to effectively manage resources to the highest ROI.
- Organizational skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple functional responsibilities as well as, employees to deliver a high value of customer service to our internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication skills: Effective communicator with the ability to present financial information and processes clearly to individuals at all levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting.
- Certification: CPA preferred
- Experience: Worked in a multi-location mid market or larger sized entity. Held a supervisory role in an accounting group. Workday financials experience a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
LOCATION
This is a full time in-office role based from our corporate headquarters in Owings Mills, MD.

Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
