Overview:
The Director, Financial Service Center directs the day-to-day operations of the Financial Services Center (FSC). Responsible for the accounting and financial service functions for ACOG’s 80 district and section cost centers, including the management of procurement, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and budgeting. Analyze financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations for decision making purposes. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with district and section officials, members, and volunteers.

Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities, which may include serving as a coach and mentor for those they supervise.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for districts and sections of ACOG.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare journal entries related to monthly closing including cash, investments, intercompany, dues and various accruals.
  • Review deposits and cash receipts entered in accounting software.
  • Train treasures and other officers on the use of Concur for expense reimbursements and invoices.
  • Review and approve all expenses for Districts and Sections.
  • Prepare annual budget materials for districts and sections in collaboration with district and section treasurers, including the review of budgets for annual district meetings with Meetings department.
  • Lead the planning and present at the Semiannual Treasurers Conferences to train new district and section officers in their duties as fiduciaries of ACOG.
  • Administer endowment funds maintained by the College’s districts and sections, including reconciliation and reporting of endowment activity. Assist district and section officers with budgeting for use of funds based on the fund purpose and with the set-up of new endowment funds as needed.
  • Prepare Best Practices manual annually, a compendium of financial information related to the operations of the College’s districts and sections.
  • Serve as the financial advisor in the planning of annual district meetings, including contract negotiations, budget preparation, and monitoring revenue and expenses prior to meetings to prevent significant financial losses.
  • Develop positive working relationships to foster a collaborative environment for district and section financial coordination and oversight.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and management of staff, including fostering a welcoming and
inclusive environment through supervising staff, providing feedback, coaching, support,
mentoring, performance management, and training and development opportunities as
appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must have budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and tax law related to not-for-profit organizations.
  • Ability to interact positively with member/volunteer officers in management of their district and section financial affairs.
  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Adaptive Insights skills preferred.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to travel.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
  • 10 years of related work experience required.
  • 5 years of supervisory experience related.

Compensation
The base salary for this position is $125,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
