Summary
The Oral Maxillofacial Surgery dental officer serves as a practicing dental specialist who performs the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Duties
- This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCMENT and will remain open until March 31, 2025.
- The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be February 12, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks.
- Eligible applications received after that date will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available.
- Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
- Diagnose and manage pathological or irregular oral conditions.
- Assess medical history and apply knowledge to the management of patients.
- Administer local and regional anesthesia, anxiolysis, and IV sedation procedures, as required by the clinical setting.
- Accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
- Accomplish dental-alveolar surgical procedures, dental implant surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, reduction of facial fractures, reconstructive surgery, management of localized and deep space infections, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, placement of dental implants, minor and major bone grafting, and biopsy procedures and management of oral pathologic conditions, as required by the clinical setting.
