The Amlon Group is a global environmental services company focused on recycling, processing, treatment and management of metal bearing industrial waste streams.
We are looking for an EH&S Site Manager to be present at both of our facilities (Baytown and Port Arthur area) Monday- Friday. Spanish is highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain standards of health and safety within plant premises in order to ensure that standards of environmental compliance & safety as identified by the employer and regulators are complied with.
- Assisting environmental, health, and safety regulators in carrying out a routine check on the organization.
- Monitor existing and incoming legislation and regulations on environmental, health and safety in order to ensure that the organization complies with their requirements.
- Assessing and analyzing the safety risk(s) associated with processing plant operations and the warehouse location.
- Responsible for engaging all members of staff in training to update them on their roles in the maintenance of standards of safety.
- Ensure that the company’s policy on health and safety does not just end as mere policies but that they are complied with at every point in time and reinforced with training as well.
- Reporting to the management the existence of an emergency and investigating the cause of such an emergency.
- Conducting incident investigations alongside operations and keeping a record of all emergencies, near-misses, and critical situations for appropriate reviews.
- Develop and evaluate environmental, health, and safety policy
- Oversight, Engagement, Reinforcement, and Training of the iSafetyCulture inspections
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- RCRA
- Strong knowledge of environmental and health and safety basic regulatory and legal framework
- Ability to communicate either orally or in writing, to be able to effectively pass health and safety requirements to colleagues and subordinates
- Ability to lead a team of people effectively and act equally as a team member
- Literate in Information Technology, as well as Microsoft Office package
Physical Requirements
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Employees are required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Travel will be required if needed to visit company locations across multiple states. Travel by car and airplane will be required.
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee will encounters while performing the essential job functions of this job.
- This position works in a typical office environment and will require you to be outdoors in the plant daily as needed. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are always required when in the plant or warehouse.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
