Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our pipe crews. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators, to perform various construction tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and the ability to work efficiently on-site while adhering to OSHA safety regulations. It is important that this candidate have prior experience in working in a pipe crew installing sewer, storm and sanitary mains.
Duties
- Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications.
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to begin production
- Control and adjust machine settings (speed, depth of digging around utilities)
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift
- Work with a pipe crew setting pipe or concrete structures
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with excavators and related machinery.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
- Must have 2-3 years experience in sloping, benching, and trenching.
- Experience working around digging underground utilities.
- Experience in digging trench boxes.
