Our family law practice primarily handles high-end divorce cases with complex financial components.
—Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join our team, focusing primarily on family law matters. The selected candidate will manage a caseload that is approximately 90% family law, with potential opportunities to work in our other practice areas. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced family law paralegals and receive mentorship from seasoned family law attorneys.
—Key Responsibilities
- Manage family law cases with a focus on financially complex divorce matters
- Draft and file legal documents, motions, and pleadings
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and mediations
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff
- Participate in case strategy development and execution
—Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active South Carolina bar license in good standing
- 1-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in family law
- Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong mathematical aptitude for handling financially complex estates
- Comfort with courtroom litigation and trial experience is highly valued
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously with attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
—Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-asset divorce cases
- Background in financial analysis or accounting
- Trial experience in family court matters
- Knowledge of South Carolina family law statutes and procedures
