HOTEL MANAGEMENT/GM EXPERIENCE A MUST
We are looking for a General Manager with THE ANGLER HOTEL BY ASCEND experience to oversee all staff, budgets and operations and sales of the Hotel. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, leading people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Ultimately, you’ll help our company grow and thrive.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations, including sales, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance departments
- Design strategy and set goals for growth
- Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Prepare reports on hotel performance, including occupancy rates, revenue, and guest feedback
- Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Monitor and manage hotel inventory, including room availability and pricing.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
- Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
- Monitor and control expenses to meet budgetary guidelines.
- Handle guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to maintain cleanliness and quality standards
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in hotel management, General Manager or a related field is required.
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
- BS/BA in Business or relevant field; MS/MA is a plus
- Choice Advantage PMS system knowledge and Micros a MUST!
