POSITION SUMMARY
ARC is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Life Coach to join its new Transitional Housing Program in Sacramento, CA. This is a full-time position that supports members in obtaining an optimal quality of life, we believe in the notion of “thriving, not surviving” and our Life Coaches must embody this as well. This position reports directly to the Program Coordinator, and works a schedule that is based on the needs of the members/caseload, this position’s schedule will also include some weekends and holidays. The Life Coach will be focused on providing life skills by assessing needs, providing case management, and providing appropriate refferals as needed. This is a challenging position that requires a self-motivated multi-tasker with a strong case-management and/or residential services provision background. Lived-experience with a passion and commitment to social justice reform preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· In collaboration with the Program Coordinator and member services team members, work to create a comprehensive schedule of activities specific to each member to include, but not limited to: employment, education, recreation, physical/mental health, spiritual growth, life skills, and/or any other activities to enhance the well-being of the member.
· Maintain familiarity with current and new contracts to ensure compliance with funding source performance targets and deliverables.
· Heavy data-base management focus: case notes, individual service plans, intakes, group notes, incident reports, etc.
· Case manage members to ensure all goals/needs are being met, and documented into required data bases on a weekly basis.
· Ensure that members are in compliance with member agreements and house guidlelines.
· Ensure safety and well-being of all members, staff, and guests/visitors. Support guest/visitor policy and intervene where necessary to maintain compliance.
· Help to develop and maintain support groups, activities, and mentorship programs within the housing community.
· Attend all ARC staff meetings, case conferences, organizational gatherings, retreats, and conferences as requested.
· Oversee/facilitate regular member meetings on site in collaboration with team members.
· Outreach to members though regular in-person visits, providing one-on-one meetings, and facilitating groups with members, in an effort to support positive member growth.
· Coordinate care and interventions with member services team members when signs of members falling off education/employment/program responsibilities are observed.
· Provide education, support and referrals to residents about available support if determined to be beyond the scope of the ARC TransitionalHousing Program.
· Refer individual and group counseling to members through available therapy.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Life Coach will have the following experience and attributes: At least 2 years of experience with a criminal justice or related population. Experience with case file documentation, group documentation, and creating case management plans is essential. Residential experience preferred.
The Life Coach will have the following experience and attributes:
· Bachelor’s Degree prefered; High School diploma or equivalent minimum with 2 years experience providing case management similar population.
· Flexible and self-starter; ability to multitask while also being highly detail-oriented.
· Excellent people and communication skills, with experience in collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse and dynamic team environment.
· Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to ARC’s mission.
· Strong and affective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
· ARC strongly encourages qualified formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals to apply.
· Passionate about the ARC mission.
· Valid California Driver’s License and insurable by ARC’s carrier.
· This position requires a clearance from CDCR.
SALARY/BENEFITS
· CLASSIFICATION:Non-exempt
· Salary $21-27/HR range depending on experience.
· ARC pays 75% medical/dental/vision benefits for individual; 50% for dependents.
· 10 paid vacation days, 6 paid sick days.
