What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Operations position at The Antigua Group Inc?
The VP of Operations will dictate the strategic direction for Receiving, Warehouse operations, Production, Shipping, Quality Assurance and Maintenance at The Antigua Group. This position is responsible for formulating strategic direction and enhancing operational and logistics excellence. This position develops and implements best practices for the manufacture and delivery of products to a diverse customer base. The individual also identifies and addresses gaps in processes to continuously improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Sets the overall strategic vision for Operations.
- Key executive sponsor on all systems upgrades including but not limited to new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation efforts.
- Develops, standardizes, and creates continuous measurement programs for various operational and quality metrics such as on time delivery and first pass yield.
- Ensures that Antigua adheres and promotes a culture of safety in all operational processes.
- Expert at developing metrics and standards and using data and other analytics to assess performance against those standards on a continuous basis.
- Sets the strategic vision for Facilities Maintenance including but not limited to development of standards, assessment of overall maintenance cadence, evaluation of maintenance personnel capabilities and future needs, and management of the monthly and annual maintenance budget.
- Evaluates overall capacity in the current state and cross references against short-, mid- and long-term requirements and constraints to develop strategic plans related to facility expansion and/or 3PL partnerships including lease analysis and / or contract evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, FLA, & Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Strategic driver of all lean initiatives. Implement metrics associated with OEE and other asset optimization methodologies to maximize Return on Investment (ROI) on all equipment.
- Identifies and enhances continuous improvement opportunities using lean methodology and Kaizen event planning along with other tools (Production management, 6S, etc.) to reduce waste.
- Responsible for leading and adhering to budget process across operations including labor acquisition, resource planning, operating expense planning and controls, capital project analysis and implementation endeavors, indirect materials planning, inventory planning and procurement input.
- Sets the vision for one-, three- and five-year capital expenditure budget requests.
- Collaborates with cross functional departments to investigate and resolve any processing or compliance issues that may hinder maximization of on time delivery metrics or customer satisfaction.
- This individual understands the importance of employee satisfaction and can balance the development and sustainment of a positive working culture throughout operations with the need for high level productivity and quality standards.
- Proven history of improving first pass yield and other quality metrics.
- Adept at creating organizational structure and optimizing shift methodology using operational best practices in a 24/7, 365-day manufacturing facility.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree (preferred) in operations management or related discipline combined with at least 12 years of progressively increasing management experience in a multi shift manufacturing environment.- Experience with operational excellence, lean and Six Sigma or similar efficiency improvement programs.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools including Excel PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, etc.
- Proven record of driving continuous improvement throughout all operations departments.
- Proficient with budgeting, creating, and delivering reports and operational data.
- Possesses and demonstrates knowledge and experience in 6S programs.
- This position is categorized as Safety Sensitive.
- All candidates must be located in Arizona as it is an on-site, full-time position in Peoria, AZ.
