Hours: Monday – Friday, 1:30PM – 5:30 PM
Compensation: [$10-15 per hour, based upon experience and work commitment]
Job Overview:
The Apple Orchard Academy: School for Literacy Enrichment is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Afterschool Math Enrichment Tutor to support students in building their math skills and confidence. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment while providing academic assistance to students in elementary grades 1st through 5th.
Requirements:
· The candidate will be expected to pass a math screening with 90% accuracy or above
· The candidate will be expected to conduct two small group lessons for grades 1st -2nd and 3rd -5th as an observation interview.
Ideal Candidate:
· Must be available to begin work on or by March 31, 2025
· Must be available to work the entire 2025 summer camp (June 2, 2025 – July 18, 2025) during the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm.
· Commit to continuing employment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year (July 2025 – May 2026)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group tutoring in math for students of varying skill levels.
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and skill reinforcement.
- Develop and implement engaging math activities and problem-solving exercises.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
- Maintain a structured and organized classroom setting.
- Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being during after school hours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or working toward a degree) in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Prior experience in tutoring, .
- Strong proficiency in elementary and middle school math concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about helping students succeed.
- Ability to manage a group of students in an afterschool setting.
