Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO)
The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a University center of excellence in defense science, systems, and technologies with a focus in naval missions and related areas. We are looking for a customer service oriented and experienced CPSO to join us at our Reston, VA, location. You will be responsible for continuous enhancement and implementation of local security programs and procedures for classified information protection in support of USG and DoD programs. The working environment for this role is fully on-site.
You will be responsible for managing and participating in day-to-day operations, assessments, inspections, and visitor/program support at our Reston facility, to include developing and administering local security programs and procedures for classified and proprietary materials and documents. You will also work closely with program leadership, sponsors, IA/ISSM staff, local security team members, and peers to ensure appropriate security support across multiple offices, as well as coordinate with other local directorates and business area leadership to identify and support business needs.
Requirements include:
- Associate’s degree or higher, with at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active security clearance at the Top-Secret level, with SCI eligibility
- Experience in industrial security
- Success in an office environment, where various forms of communication and organizational skills were crucial to be effective
