Rate: $13-$15/hour depending on qualifications
Overview:
The Applied Science and Performance Institute (ASPI) is seeking dedicated and reliable hourly workers to assist in a study investigating the efficacy of a supplement in reducing drunkenness and hangover symptoms. This position will involve working closely with our scientists and research team to supervise study subjects and ensure the smooth operation of the study. You will be trained by on-site staff in the various techniques and testing methods of the trial.
Schedule (Monday - Friday):
- First Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Night Shift: 2:00 PM - 8:00PM (with possibility that delays could cause it to go to 10:00 PM)
- Flexibility is required to accommodate potential delays, with the latest end time being 10:00 PM.
- *Note that most weeks this will be Monday-Thursday and up to 8 hours per shift.
Responsibilities:
- Research Subject Recruitment: Assist with recruitment outreach and screening according to research protocol. Assist in scheduling research subjects for study visits.
- Study Supervision: Assist in overseeing the study subjects throughout the day, ensuring their safety and compliance with study protocols.
- Data Recording: Accurately record subject data in spreadsheets and/or handwritten documents (i.e., case report forms).
- Task Management: Help the research team stay on task and adhere to the study timeline. Test Administration: Assist in administering various tests, including:
- Height, weight, and BMI measurements
- Urine drug test and pregnancy tests
- Health history questionnaires
- Urinalysis
- Breath alcohol tests
- Taking vital signs
- Surveys/questionnaires
- Cognitive tests (both paper and digital exams)
- Adverse event monitoring
- Subject Oversight: Monitor subjects, particularly when intoxicated, to ensure their general safety and well-being, especially when there are multiple subjects at once.
- Support for Principal Investigator (PI): Provide a second hand to the PI, allowing them to leave the room if necessary for breaks or to assist with other ongoing studies.

- Basic Medical Knowledge: Understanding of basic medical tests and procedures is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
