Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree
- Required: California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Chemistry
***Candidates with an intern credential are also considered***
- Two years of urban teaching experience is preferred
- Bilingual Spanish or Korean desirable, but not required
- Possession of either an English Learner Authorization (EL Authorization), Bilingual, Cross-Cultural,
- Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) certificate; Cross-Cultural, Language and Academic
- Development (CLAD) certificate; or Bilingual Certificate of Competence (BCC) required.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction based on our school’s curriculum and best practices.
- Develop and submit weekly lesson plans aligned with California State and Common Core standards.
- Differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners.
- Foster a culturally responsive and positive classroom environment.
- Participate in weekly instructional coaching sessions and implement feedback.
- Use supplemental programs to support student learning.
- Maintain gradebooks and meet grading deadlines.
- Communicate with families about student progress and behavior.
- Use planning periods to support student learning and provide tutoring when needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
