Job Title: Assistant Coach-Lacrosse

Supervisor: Head Coach-Lacrosse

Job Status: Exempt (Salaried)
Seasonal

Supervisory Responsibility: Students Date: January 2025

POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists and guides participating student athletes to achieve a high level of skill,
discipline, sportsmanship and citizenship. Assists the Head Coach in specific sports
program in accordance with policies and athletic handbook.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in the coordination and organization of the lacrosse program.

• Plans and schedules practice program.

• Assists in selecting players for the team

• Assists in overseeing the safety, conditions of practice, game and locker room

areas.

• Maintains and inventories all equipment.

• Models/mentors in instilling values of sportsmanship, citizenship and

teamwork.

• Monitors proper supervision of student athletes at practices, competitions, locker

rooms, and when competing away.

• Maintains individual and team statistics and records.

• Assists in the planning and implementation of the seasonal awards recognition

program through the Athletic office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and Experience:

• NYS Coaching Certification

• Valid NYS First Aid/CPR/AED Certifications

• Successful previous coaching experience

• Knowledge of the fundamentals and rules and regulations of lacrosse

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong leadership skills

• Ability to contribute to the development of a competitive program that is

committed to the creation of student athletes who demonstrate a commitment to
academics, strong fundamental skills and sportsmanship.

• Ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers, coaches, sponsors, students,

parents and members of the community to insure that the school stands out with
pride for our community.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Practice and games may be performed indoors or outside. This position may be subject
to inclement weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May require sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. May require the ability to
demonstrate techniques of the game, i.e. throwing, running.

At Aquinas, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined
within a range.

The stipend amount for this role is between $2,500 - $3,000. Your base pay will depend
on your skills, qualifications, and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also
available.
