Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medication Technician Supervisor with an HHA Certificate to join our team at The Arbors at Bohemia. This on-call position requires a flexible individual who can work various shifts (8 HOUR to 12 HOUR SHIFTS), including days and nights, to ensure the safe administration of medications to our residents.
The Medication Technician Supervisor will oversee medication management while providing leadership and guidance to the medication technician team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the medication technician staff to ensure the safe and accurate administration of medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new medication technicians, providing ongoing education and support to ensure compliance with best practices and safety standards.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of medication administration processes to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and state regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses and physicians, to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
- Monitor and document residents' responses to medications, reporting any adverse reactions or changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Maintain accurate medication records and documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and support to the medication technician team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage for medication administration across all shifts.
- Address and resolve any concerns or issues related to medication management in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall mission of promoting the health and well-being of residents.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and HHA certification Required
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a healthcare or assisted living environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, safety protocols, and relevant healthcare regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Must possess a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days and nights, as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and assist residents as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
