Job Title: Coordinator of Physical and Occupational Therapy

Position Summary:
Oversees and supervises therapy staff within the education program. Distributes, manages and oversees caseloads as well as the planning, administration and/or supervise treatment procedures and documentation. Monitors the quality of services delivered, staffing needs, clinical documentation, and compliance with regulating bodies. When applicable, assumes crisis caseload during staffing shortages.
Reporting Relationship:
Will receive direct supervision from the Director of Clinical Services. Also works closely with building principals and assistant principals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Formal education and degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology PLUS current New York State licensure in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology.

A valid New York State driver’s license with approved record is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assign caseloads to therapists and ensure appropriate scheduling that fulfills the mandates for the students requiring service and maximizes the delivery of services during the school day. Provides direct services to students during shortages of personnel to have mandates met.
- Monitors documentation and provision of therapy services as required by law, Arc Erie County NY policy and administrative regulations. This includes ensuring compliance with NYSED, Medicaid in Education and local municipality and school district requirements.
- Verify that sound interventions are being implemented, and that the documentation is in compliance with all regulations and related requirements.
- Facilitates supplemental therapy evaluations as needed.
- Inventories, and maintains, an accurate record of equipment and supplies used by the department.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving electronic timesheets and activity related to services delivered by departmental staff.
- Maintains and assures current licensure and credentialing of therapy staff (license, NPI number, Medicaid number, etc.)
- Works in close conjunction with the school administration (principals, assistant principals, coordinator of IEPs, etc.) staff to ensure accurate reflection of therapies and services levels and goals within pertinent documentation such as the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Demonstrate knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education and students with disabilities, particularly parts 200 and 201 of the regulations of the commissioner of education.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Demonstrates knowledge of New York State Medicaid in Education School Supportive Health Services Program and Preschool Supportive Health Services Program.
- Ensures that the therapy staff are updated and within compliance in regard to required trainings such as, but not limited to corporate compliance, HIPAA, etc.
- Other duties as assigned

This may be a remote or in person assignment and will be determined based on the needs of the individuals we serve.
