Our Position: We are currently seeking a Hospitality Customer Service Specialist in our Vocational Day Training department to coordinate and deliver customer service training. This position also involves:
Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm schedule
Our Requirements:
Hospitality Degree and/or Associates Degree with a Culinary or Hospitality focus PLUS at least 2 years paid work experience in the Culinary/Hospitality industry.
PLUS
Have experience as an instructor with a hospitality/customer service background and have a high degree of technical ability to relay information in a manner that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession. Possess administrative and technology skills adequate to build course materials and has the ability to demonstrate concern and sensitivity toward culinary trainees and their individual needs and learning styles.
Passion for teaching individuals and preparing them to work.
A valid NYS Driver's License with an approved driving record is preferred, but not required; must have reliable transportation to assigned work site.

Position Summary:
The Hospitality/Customer Service Training Specialist will create and implement a training program that will prepare students for entry level employment in a Hospitality/Customer Service position. The Hospitality/Customer Service Training Specialist will minimally run three (3) 12-week training sessions a year and provide additional training and classes to individual’s supported by the agencies as well as employees of the agency. This position is also responsible for maintaining a program budget including program cost, certifications and maximizing enrollment and hospitality suite space use.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to the Specialized Workforce Training Center Coordinator and secondly to the Director of Vocational and Employment Services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct hands-on culinary instruction to prepare students for entry level employment
- Develop lesson plans based on curriculum
- Administer written and practical tests to measure progress
- Document and report out on each student’s ability to comprehend, perform, and retain practical techniques
- Work one-on-one with students to ensure comprehension of lessons and information
- Recruit new and maintain relationships with chefs for volunteer opportunities
- Oversee the various ordering, set-up, and cleanup needed for lessons and guest speaker presentations
- Create a volunteer opportunity that encompasses student’s talents in hospitality and customer service to better the community at Large
- Assist with recruitment of students
- Conduct interviews and evaluate potential candidates
- Develop internship sites, identify mentors, and forge employer partnerships during job search to lead to successful job placements
- Participate in, and support, special events including fundraisers, seasonal events, and demonstrations
- Will complete all documentation and reports related in a contemporaneous manner.
- Will complete and maintain all regulator trainings that pertain to this job
