We are looking for someone with a passion for helping others. Our Warehouse Program Assistant at Armstrong World Industries, Inc. needs to be meticulous and safety oriented.
Our employees cut, label and package each sample of Armstrong’s commercial and residential ceiling tiles before they are wrapped and shipped nationwide. Samples are sent to architectural firms, interior designers and suppliers all over the world.
SUMMARY To organize, supervise and train six to ten persons with developmental disabilities in the processing of ceiling tile samples, meeting Armstrong contract standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Assist in supervising and training workers in manual/technical skills as well as in general social, communication adaptive and other skill areas.
· Ensure safe work practices.
· Ensure that tiles are processed into samples according to Armstrong contract standards.
· Document production, billing, IIP’s, time cards, etc.
· Ensure preventative maintenance and service is completed on equipment.
· Order and store supplies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in supervising persons with developmental disabilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, the requirements of the funding agencies, and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year of direct, care-related experience is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be able to pass FDLE background screening, Department of Children and Families Abuse Registry Check, local law enforcement background check, Affidavit of Good Moral Character, and drug screen. Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, HIV, and HIPAA certifications will be required.

Beginning Salary: $15.00/Hour
Status:Non-Exempt
Working Hours: Requires a flexible schedule with a minimum of 30 hours per week, generally consistent with the Monday through Friday program hours.
