What are the responsibilities and job description for the Masters Level Psychologist position at The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, NY?
- Carries case load as assigned
- Reviewing and signing off on behavior plans and medication monitoring plans
- Works with BT and team as needed for difficult cases
- Participates in IDT meetings.
- Regularly observes behavior in the homes/ day programs of the assigned caseload.
- Attends house meetings to assist with training and implementation of Behavior Support Plans
- Monitors staff compliance with plan/protocol implementation and data collection.
- Develops and provides skill training for staff on topics such as autism, dementia, mental health conditions, etc., as necessary.
- Trains staff on behavioral plan/protocol implementation and program revisions.
- Candidate must possess ability to work in various settings, show attention to detail, have highly developed organizational skills, and the ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and software.
- Candidate must be able to travel to various agency sites.
- Candidate must be able to establish and maintain professional working relationships with a variety of agency staff (from DSP/ DHPs through executive management).
- Must be able to organize and maintain a comprehensive database of caseload specific plans/protocols to ensure there are no lapses in consents or expiration dates.
- Requires flexible hours, including some evening hours and/or weekend days if needed
- Candidate must be an active member of and possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team including ability to work with family members/guardians to explain plans/protocols and obtain informed consent, as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and positive working relations within the department as well as across all departments of the agency.
- Maintains open lines of communication with planning team and flexibility of thought for creating person center plans based on individual specific needs.
- Responsible for running sexuality/ relationship education classes for individuals
- Develops Behavior Support Plans, Medication Monitoring Plans, special protocols, etc.
- Responsible for compiling and analyzing data for HRC, psychiatric appointments, meetings and as needed.
- Maintains knowledge about behavioral/psychological issues with regard to each resident.
- Oversees Behavior Tech (BT)
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, School Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or another related approved field required
- Minimum two years experience working in the field of developmental disabilities required.
