The Respite Coordinator shall ensure that services provided meet the standards established by set regulations, the agency and the department. The candidate must have an understanding of and commitment to the agency Core Values, respecting the people supported, their families and the mission of the agency. They shall provide for the safety, health, and welfare of employees, the people supported, and at the same time, ensure the supports provided are geared to promote personal growth, skill acquisition, authentic community integration and meet CQL standards. Although this position at times requires direct support, the major focus is the supervision, hands-on instruction and coaching of direct support professionals as well as the development and maintenance of systems that enhance the provision of supports. While this position’s hours vary, this position is expected to ensure any activities scheduled and any staff hours scheduled have ongoing support from the management team. There will be times when this potion may need to be called during off hours, where the candidate would be compensated by punching in to the agencies work force timecard app.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist clients in daily living skills, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and provide first aid when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and service delivery.
- Facilitate communication between clients, families, and service providers.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Support the overall mission of The Arc by promoting inclusion and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to assist clients physically as needed, including heavy lifting when required.
- Basic first aid knowledge is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Compassionate approach towards assisting individuals in their daily activities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- A background in developmental disabilities & senior care is beneficial.
