NYS Certified Teaching Assistants
The Arc Greater Hudson Valley NY is currently seeking NYS Certified Teaching Assistants for its education programs serving children with developmental disabilities.
Locations: New Windsor, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday,
Full Time and Substitute positions available
Responsibilities:
- Maintain students in line of site at all times
- Provide assigned students with non-instructional supports as directed by the classroom teacher
- Accompany students throughout the day
- Act as a companion for students
- Provide assistance with student as indicated by their IEP’s and in accordance with instructions from the supervising teacher
- Assist students with personal hygiene with methods prescribed by the IEP
- Assist in lunch preparation
- Perform record keeping functions as assigned by the teacher
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
NYS Certified Teaching Assistant:
- New York State Teacher Assistant Certification required
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) A PLUS!
- Experience working with children with disabilities preferred
