POSITION OBJECTIVES: The Grants & Community Relations Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing The Arc Jacksonville’s mission by securing grant funding, fostering relationships with grantors, and managing community engagement efforts.
This position is responsible for identifying new grant opportunities, writing proposals, overseeing grant reports and coordinating individual and corporate volunteer efforts. Additionally, the Coordinator will support the Advancement team in executing fundraising events and special projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grants Management
- Research and identify new grant opportunities that align with The Arc Jacksonville’s programs and initiatives.
- Write and submit compelling grant applications in coordination with the program and finance teams.
- Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely submission in collaboration with program and finance teams.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with grant funders, including coordinating and tracking timely follow-ups, thank-you correspondence, and stewardship visits.
- Manage an annual calendar of grant applications, reports, due dates, and renewal opportunities to ensure timely submissions and compliance.
Community Relations
- Manage the recruitment, training, and recognition of individual volunteers and corporate volunteer groups.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify areas of volunteer need within the organization.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and track hours using Bloomerang Volunteer.
- Ensure all volunteers complete necessary background checks and receive proper training for their roles.
- Develop and implement community outreach programs that engage community members fostering positive relationships and promoting the organization’s mission.
Advancement & Event Support
- Assist the Advancement team in planning and executing fundraising events, community outreach initiatives, and donor stewardship activities.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Represent The Arc Jacksonville at community events to strengthen relationships with partners, funders, and volunteers.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Commitment to The Arc Jacksonville’s mission, vision, and values
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (communications, nonprofit management, business, or a related field)
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or grant management
- Must pass Level 2 background screening and drug test
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with database management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives
- Exceptional organizations skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience in grant writing, volunteer management, community engagement, or fundraising
- Knowledge of local and national grant funding sources
- Familiarity with volunteer coordination best practices and event planning
- Experience with donor and volunteer management software (Bloomerang experience preferred)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Position is full-time with a starting salary of $55,000
- Medical, life, dental, and vision insurance available after 60 days
