Our Direct Support Professionals in the Community Inclusion Program focus on helping individuals learn new skills, build meaningful relationships, explore the community in an engaging way and help create a joyful and meaningful life.
Although experience is preferred, it is not required! We have an excellent on-the-job training course to get you ready to help the community. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at The Arc of Lane County. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be 18 years or older, and pass a criminal background check
- Must be eager to learn
- Must be reliable and dependable and have a passion for supporting adults to live happy, meaningful, and self-directed lives
- Must be willing to support participants in their personal daily living needs
- Must be active and energetic with the ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods
- Must have excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills
- Must be comfortable using technology
- COVID vaccination highly encouraged
- Ability to prioritize needs and wants of client
- Public transportation experience preferred
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Understand and respect people’s rights to live self-directed life
- Help people pursue their interests and discover new passions
- Assist individuals in learning new skills and gaining independence
- Support individuals to be actively engaged in their community (recreation, shopping, meeting friends)
Benefits:
Sick pay, up to 80 hours part time/ up to 480 hours full time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
