Job description
The Arc of Lane County is looking for a Teacher's Aide, currently enrolled in the childcare background registry, for our JumpStart preschool and ESTEAM school age program that helps children of different abilities develop a love of learning and explore the world around them, build healthy social-emotional development, foster friendships and growing independence. Must have a current R#. This is a fun position that allows individuals to combine creativity and passion for teaching to create one-of-a-kind learning experiences for children with diverse learning styles. Bilingual/bicultural applicants are encouraged to apply.
The hours are Monday-Friday between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm. School year hours can vary and we even have weekend hours here and there, so college students are welcome to apply.
Pay is dependent on experience/ORO step.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be 18 years or older; have high school diploma or equivalent; pass a criminal background check.
- Reliable and passionate about helping children and youth learn and grow in a supportive environment
- Excellent communication & listening skills
- Familiarity teaching science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts preferred
- Enrollment in Oregon Childcare Registry required.
- Must specify Oregon Registry Online step
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist lead teacher with classroom facilitation and implementation of educational curriculum.
- Interact with students and encourage love of learning and pro-social skills development
- Assist students who may need extra support to complete tasks
- Help lead teacher with managing classroom behavior and creating classroom materials
- Provide transportation as requested, valid Oregon Driver’s License is required
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
