The Arc Lexington is looking for an Accountant Payee Specialist
The Accountant Payee Specialist is responsible for managing and monitoring financial accounts and transactions for the people we support who are receiving services, ensuring compliance with OPWDD, Social Security, and other governing regulations. The role involves auditing residential houses and petty cash accounts and responding to inquiries from staff and the community. Additionally, the Accountant Payee Specialist oversees SSI and Medicaid resource thresholds, facilitates spend-down arrangements, and advocates for policy updates as needed.
Qualifications:
An Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field, along with at least one year of relevant experience, is required. The ideal candidate will have experience managing benefits for people we support who live in certified settings through OPWDD or similar Medicaid-funded programs, as well as working with Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and serving as a Representative Payee for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) are essential.
