The Arc Lexington seeks an experienced professional to oversee all aspects of our 300 vehicle fleet. This leadership role ensures seamless, efficient, and safe transportation operations that meet the needs of the people we support.
The Arc Lexington is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Transportation plays a critical role in achieving this mission by helping individuals connect with family and friends, access employment, and participate in their communities. As the Director of Transportation, you will be instrumental in ensuring the approximately 1 million miles traveled annually by our agency's vehicles are completed safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include oversight of all employee training related to safe driving and collaboration with the people we serve, their families, and agency managers in the development of safe and efficient transportation strategies. Effectively manage fleet maintenance and provide direct oversight to the agency's bus drivers and mechanics teams. Investigate vehicle incidents, ensure accurate reporting, and address performance concerns related to driving. Ensure compliance with DOT and 19A regulations. Submit grant applications and maintain registrations for the 300 vehicle fleet.
Qualifications:
A minimum of five years of experience in fleet management and at least three years overseeing a large vehicle fleet is required. Proficiency in computer skills is essential. Experience with DOT regulations is preferred. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a New York State Class B Driver's License with a P endorsement.
