We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough interviews with clients to assess their skills, interests, and employment goals.
- Educate clients on job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- Provide addiction counseling as needed, ensuring clients receive appropriate support.
- Mentor clients throughout their job search journey, offering guidance and encouragement.
- Collaborate with local employers to identify job openings suitable for clients.
- Develop training programs that enhance clients' employability skills.
- Stay informed about employment labor laws to ensure compliance during the job placement process.
- Work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, tailoring support to meet their unique needs.
- Facilitate workshops on workforce development topics to empower clients in their job search.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or 3 years of work experience in a human service-related field.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Successfully complete the following checks: criminal background, central registry, CARI, and drug testing if applicable.
Job Summary: Responsible for coordinating and implementing all phases of the job placement process for persons assigned to their caseloads.
1. Under the direction of the Director of Employment Services, the Employment specialist will perform all responsibilities associated with the pre-placement, intensive training and follow along phases of the job placement process.
2. Maintain effective links of communication with all referral agents.
3. Perform all duties in a professional manner that speaks well of the persons supported and the Agency.
4. Actively develops a pool of available job leads that can be utilized by their prospective candidates as well as other Employment Specialistists.
5. Assist all persons served with help in related areas such as benefits, SSI/SSDI concerns, transportation, etc.
6. Assist in locating other needed services for persons served.
7. Provide hands on training and assistance when required at employment sites.
8. Maintain a cooperative and collaborative relationship with all agency staff.
9. Comply that all required paperwork and documentation is done.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
