Day to day as a Assistive Technology Coordinator
As the Assistive Technology Coordinator at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, you will provide vital support in assessing and recommending adaptive/assistive technology tailored to the individual needs of clients. Your role will involve developing and implementing a comprehensive Technology Plan that enhances independence and aligns with the interests of those we serve. Collaborating with local organizations, you will assist individuals in obtaining necessary technology through various funding sources, such as insurance and grants. Documentation of services will be essential, as will maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
You'll work closely with families and care coordinators, organize meetings, and engage in professional development through in-services and conferences. You'll also oversee direct reports, ensuring accountability in operations and service delivery, while remaining committed to innovative technology solutions that elevate the quality of life for individuals with ID/D diagnoses. What you need to be successful
To thrive as an Assistive Technology Coordinator at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, candidates must bring a minimum of one year's experience working with individuals with ID/D diagnoses. Familiarity with assistive technology is essential, as you'll be guiding clients on how these tools can foster independence in daily living, educational settings, and employment. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with families, community organizations, and clinical staff. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for assessments and documentation is also important.
