Your role as a Direct Support Professional
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler in Watkins Glen, you will play a vital role in attending to the daily needs of the individuals we serve. Your responsibilities will include performing a diverse range of personal care tasks alongside the individuals, allowing you to teach, encourage, and guide them in developing crucial daily living skills and habits. As a care giver, you will provide direct support that empowers individuals to achieve their highest level of independence. This important work is not only rewarding but also allows you to make a significant impact in the lives of those you assist, fostering their growth in a compassionate environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
--High School Diploma or GED or ability to pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Test.
--Valid/Clean Drivers License preferred
--Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
