What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional Caregiver position at The Arc of Harrison County?
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide support to Arc participants, to enable them to live and participate in their community to the best of their ability and increase their skills for greater independence.
- WORK PERFORMED:
- Financial:
- Assist participant with the handling of their finances, on hand.
- Completion of the cash management sheet.
Documentation:Customer Relations:Program:Training:* Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.* Ability to work 24/7, as needed
- Completion of task analysis, as the participant completes the goal objectives. Documentation to be accurate.
- Completion of case notes, timesheets, expense sheet, direct service log, participant specific data collection, by the end of shift.
- Completion of any other document as required by the Administrator of Community Support Program/Behavior Support Professional.
- Participant and Employee incident reports completed accurately, at the time of the incident and turned into the Administrator of Community Support Program within 12 hours.
- Maintain relationships with:
- Families
- Intra-agency departments
- Outside agencies
- Community Members
- Team members
- Effective communication and consistency are needed to aid the participant, team, and agency in meeting program goals.
- Implementation of the Individual Habilitation Plan, which may include training in the following areas: personal hygiene, daily living skills, maintaining a clean environment, shopping skills, cooking skills, social skills, attending medical appointments, as scheduled, volunteering, fundraisers, etc.
- Follow the daily activity schedule as written.
- Provide services as written in the Individual Program Plan.
- Participate in Individual Program Planning.
- Attend and pass all trainings required by the agency as per state and federal regulations.
