Job Description:
The Arc of Monmouth serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in group homes, day programs, and supported employment. We are seeking a qualified candidate for our Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator position to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to access services, including natural supports and community resources.
Job Duties:
1. Oversee and respond to inquiries for supports and services from support coordinators, families, and case managers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Make appropriate recommendations/referrals as needed.
2. Chair the bi-weekly Intake Committee meetings, which consist of representatives from Adult Services, Health Services, Residential, Quality Assurance, and Work Opportunity Center. This ensures that those requesting services are vetted to determine the best fit within The Arc programs and services.
3. Be responsible for keeping an accurate & detailed Waiting List for ALL Adult and Vocational Services offered by The Arc of Monmouth. This is not limited to Day Habilitation, but should include, WOC, Pre-Voc & KACH.
4. Responsible for scheduling meetings with perspective participants and their families with various program directors and coordinators at The Arc.
5. Communicate and collaborate with other departments within The Arc of Monmouth on a regular basis.
6. Educate families, child study teams, and school districts on transitioning from children’s to adult services. Collaborate on how to access services through the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities and available programs within The Arc of Monmouth.
7. Represent The Arc of Monmouth at community events including resource fairs, community engagement events, transition events and education sessions as needed.
8. Coordinate virtual/in-person information sessions for families on IDD resources available to them and resources that will assist them in planning for the future of their served individual.
9. Compile and maintain required reports, statistics, individual records, and documentation in accordance with The Arc’s policies and those of funding sources.
10. Communicate and collaborate with other chapters of The Arc and with other community agencies and resources.
11. Collaborate with Development to identify programs and services in need of funding for grant opportunities.
12. Complete other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- B.A. in Social Work, Human Services, or related field. Master's Degree preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with parents, individuals with developmental disabilities, and other staff
- Valid NJ driver's license with a driving record that is acceptable to The Arc and its insurer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
