Our Direct Support Professional position in Fairport, NY offers a meaningful opportunity to work within your community. DSPs provide hands-on support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with daily activities, personal care, and community involvement.
What does that mean? It means you'll help adults with some of their most critical needs including:
- Personal Care: Helping people with hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the toilet.
- Meal Preparation and Assistance: cooking, serving meals, and supporting people with eating, if needed.
- Medication Administration: Assisting with prescribed medications under supervision.
- Household Management: Helping with cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Transportation: Driving to appointments, activities, or community outings.
- Community Involvement: Supporting participation in events, recreational activities, or volunteer opportunities.
- Emotional Support: Providing companionship, building trust, and fostering positive relationships.
- Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting changes in physical or mental health to supervisors.
- Documentation: Recording daily activities, progress, and any incidents accurately.
- Non drivers starting rate is $18.25
- High school diploma/G.E.D. required. Prior experience is helpful, but not required.
- Valid NYS driver's license required
- Must maintain current required certifications as designated by the agency including but not limited to: AMAP, SCIP-R, First Aid/CPR
