Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our Leadership team. In this role, you will be a strategic thought-partner and will play a key role in shaping our organizational culture, guiding employee relations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal obligations. The Director will manage all aspects of Human Resource services, policies, and programs within the agency and contribute to the development of key HR strategies that align with the mission of The Arc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Manage employee relations and services, provide corrective counseling, and ensure positive relationships within the organization.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee the coordination and administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitive and fair offerings.
- Performance Management: Develop and implement strategies for performance management and improvement systems, working with leadership to set goals.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Ensure that all HR policies and procedures are developed, documented, and compliant with all regulatory and legal obligations.
- Staffing & Recruitment: Partner with Program Directors to recruit and staff departments effectively, supporting the staffing needs of the agency.
- Employee Safety & Wellness: Prioritize employee safety, wellness, and health programs, ensuring a safe and supportive work environment.
- Leadership Partnership: Collaborate with Senior Leadership to create succession planning strategies and foster organizational development.
Additional Duties:
- Ensure the development of a positive organizational culture through proactive leadership and open communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling all HR matters.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments to ensure the overall success of the agency.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization’s mission.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- HR Expertise: Extensive knowledge of human resources practices, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including supervision and leadership roles.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and HRIS systems.
- Certifications: Must attend all mandatory in-services, safety training, and annual trainings.
Working Conditions:
General office environment with standard working hours. Occasional travel to various service locations may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Yes, the Director will provide leadership and supervision within the HR department and assist in fostering a positive work environment across the agency.
Salary commensurated with experience.
