At The Arc of San Diego, we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live independently and achieve their goals. We’re looking for Job Coaches to support The Arc of San Diego’s food service employment program at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (Military site, MCRD) location. In this role, you will supervise, train, and support individuals with disabilities as they perform their job duties, ensuring they meet the required standards of work quality and quantity. You will play a key role in developing their vocational skills and support them integrate successfully into the worksite environment.

Position Overview: As a Job Coach at The Arc of San Diego’s MCRD Group Support program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they work in a food service environment. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and train clients, ensuring they successfully complete their tasks while meeting the required standards of quality and productivity. You will also help clients develop their vocational skills and integrate into the workplace, fostering positive relationships with staff and stakeholders at the site. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting client progress, providing transportation to and from the worksite, and collaborating with a dedicated team to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

The pay range for this position is $20-$20.40.

Part-Time Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 8am-12:30pm.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise and provide job coaching support to individuals with disabilities as they work at the MCRD site.
  • Provide training and guidance to help clients develop job skills and meet work tasks as required by the Military and Sodexo.
  • Assist clients in following their Individual Service Plans (ISP) to promote independence.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, coworkers, and site staff.
  • Monitor and document client progress using the Therap system.
  • Ensure client safety and support them in daily activities.

What You’ll Need:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (preferred).
  • A valid California Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with mobile devices.
  • Experience with electronic case management systems like Therap is a plus.
