NATURE OF JOB:
The Residential Manager is responsible for service provision at all residential facilities. The Residential Supervisor will report to the COO. Provides supervision and training for residential shift staff. Ensures quality service and proper supervision is provided for people with disabilities in a residential setting. This position will ensure satisfaction of people served by The Arc of the Bay.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans and coordinates the daily operations of the Group Home.
· Supervises Direct Care Staff.
· Creates a congenial and home like atmosphere within the community residence.
· Promotes a maximum independence of each resident.
· Facilitates opportunities for residents to be involved in community activities such as shopping, leisure, and religious activities.
· Supervises and prepares nutritious meals, to include ensuring up to date menus are approved and in place for staff to utilize.
· Monitors the home to ensure all medications have been administered correctly, money is accounted for, and all rules and regulations are followed as outlined in 65G-2
· Ensure that all residents’ property is inventoried at least two times per year. With all electronic items having a picture and serial number for reporting of stolen merchandise.
· Ensures all vehicles assigned to the group homes are cleaned every week and ensures all rules and procedures are followed.
· Be prepared for annual licensing and monthly monitoring by The Agency for Persons with Disabilities.
· Be prepared for monitoring by Qlarant.
· Assist each resident in developing attitudes and behaviors appropriate to community living.
· Be supportive of and encourages each resident’s participation in the day training or program prescribed.
· Protects each resident's rights and freedoms and maintains confidentiality of personal information
concerning the consumer, in accordance with the Bill of Rights of Individuals with Intellectual and/or
Developmental Persons.
· Reports any unusual incidents to the COO immediately.
· Reports suspected abuse and neglect.
· Maintains facility and consumer records. Maintains program documentation. Ensures accuracy. Submits for billing in required time frame. Ensures all information is input in Therap Software daily.
· Ensure accuracy of employee time for payroll daily and approve bi-weekly for all assigned staff.
· Ensure weekly schedules are posted and reflect the appropriate hours required for Residential Habilitation. The required amount of staff hours must be fulfilled by the manager.
· Provides for proper storage, and handling of drugs and medicines. Orders medications as needed. Assists the resident by making medications available and reminding the client to take them at the appropriate times.
· Schedule and assists in transportation for residents to and from place of employment, personal appointments (medical and dental) and for recreational and other events.
· Encourages appropriate family involvement and visitation.
· Assists residents in handling money and making and keeping appointments when indicated.
· Ensures opportunity for resident privacy.
· Participates in monthly fire evacuation drills and all disaster drills with proper documentation of same.
· Maintains a safe environment.
· Avoids the exploitation of any resident.
· Supervises and participates in routine household maintenance. Ensures cleanliness of home.
· Assists in the on-going assessment of resident's progress.
· Provide physical assistance to consumers as needed.
· Assists with curriculum and program development.
· Carries out designated program activities.
· Enters data into systems as required.
· Conducts performance reviews of direct care staff and provides feedback to staff regarding performance.
· Provides and/or reviews documentation of individuals’ progress on expected outcomes of participants.
· Coordinates and maintains needed supplies and equipment for designated program activities for in-house community instruction.
· Maintains attendance/time sheets of employees accurately.
· Maintains communication with Support Coordinators, families, employers, other providers, funding sources, etc.
· Completes and reviews paperwork as needed.
· Provides orientation and training to staff assigned to the Res Hab program.
· Makes recommendations for the hiring, promotion, and termination of staff assigned to the program.
· Reviews incident reports and follows up, as necessary.
· Ensure compliance with state and federal funding programmatic requirements.
· Attends staff meetings and in-service training as requested.
· Regular reliable full-time attendance as scheduled.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field.
· Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
· Four (4) years of training and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
· Must possess a belief in worth of individuals with disabilities.
· Expertise in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
· Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Must be able to speak, write, and comprehend English language.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License acceptable to the Agency and the Agency Insurance Carrier, or the ability to obtain within time limits established by the State of Florida.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of and ability to use data and/or word processing equipment and related software.
· Knowledge in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
· Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with public.
· Outstanding project management and organizational skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to prepare routine documents and compose letters and memoranda.
· Ability to make decisions in accordance with the rules and regulations and policies and apply these to work problems.
· Ability to develop a teamwork concept among staff.

· Ability to receive the public; make minor decisions to relieve the schedule of supervisor with administrative ability.

· Ability to plan programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment and requires moderate exposure to disagreeable elements (e.g., irate customer and clients, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights and/or dust).
This position requires stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, visual acuity (i.e. seeing up close, seeing far away, depth perception), kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, climbing, finger movement, repetitive motions. This position requires frequent lifting of 10-25lbs, and may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
