Job Summary:
- Provides assistance to the Residential Habilitation Manager in a Group Home setting.
- Provides specific training activities for direct care staff to assist individuals who have been diagnosed as developmentally disabled.
- The service focuses on personal hygiene skills, medication administration, homemaking skills, activities of daily living and social and adaptive skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision and management of all assigned aspects of the ongoing operation of a residential facility, ensuring all shifts are covered, all staff perform as expected, train all new employees on programs, procedures or protocols, and all other supervisory duties as needed.
- Ensure daily activities are carried out as planned
- Protect each resident’s rights and freedoms, maintain the confidentiality of their personal information, and provide for and insure each individual’s rights to privacy.
- Provide an atmosphere of family living in a community setting.
- Monitor training sessions using task analysis related to supports identified in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Supervise the training of residents, helping with meals, in accordance with posted menus, and other household chores to maintain general upkeep and cleanliness of the home.
- Assist with ISP, IIP, and support team meetings as scheduled.
- Work in a collaborative team with all service providers and other agency staff.
- Assist with development and implementation of program goals and objectives.
- Assist in training people in areas stated on their Individual Support Plan.
- Respond to crisis situations for people needing emergency respite coverage.
- Administer medications as trained.
- Perform other functions, as directed, relevant to the position.
- Complete all program documentation on approved forms utilizing computer.
- Report and document all incidents pertaining to individuals, facility, and group home vehicles.
- Monitor and inventory all medications.
- Provide the support and supervision individuals need to maintain control of their lives, perform daily living skills and participate in normal routines of the home
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university (with major course work in such subjects as Social Services, Human Resources, Business, or related field); and one year management or relevant experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, or childcare setting, or providing training to people with developmental disabilities.
- Must pass a Level II Background Screening.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Must have transportation, current license, current car registration, current car insurance, and a good driving record.
- Must complete required training.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
