The Arc of the Quad Cities Area needs a Production / QC Flex Specialist for its QC Flex location in Rock Island, IL. The position will be 40 hours weekly, 8 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Flexible to marketing Flex Business Services as needed. Specific Duties :
The primary responsibility of this role is to actively support and advance The Arc of the Quad Cities Area's mission, which is "To empower people with disabilities to believe in their unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness." The role of a QC Flex specialist involves assisting the QC Flex Manager in various tasks such as coordinating production, operating machinery, and providing training to ensure efficient order completion and meeting production deadlines. Collaborating with the QC Flex Manager, the Production Specialist follows and monitors safety measures, job layout, quality control, and process steps. The QC Flex Specialist participates in staffing and relevant meetings related to their service workers, implementing all recommendations. The specialist also supports the QC Flex Manager in coordinating materials, equipment, and supplies by pricing and purchasing necessary items, conducting maintenance on machines and equipment, and maintaining an inventory system for efficiency and security. Additionally, the specialist is responsible for maintaining client and customer production records, preparing regular reports, and managing payroll, job costing, and billing data. You must become DSP certified within 120 days of employment since you will be working hands-on with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Successful passing of pre-employment drug test; successful passing of random drug tests.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate total project efforts.
- Production and computer experience preferred.
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude required.
- Strength and flexibility to perform production work. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand / work on feet for 90% or more of the scheduled shift.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Satisfactory completion of fork truck certification before or within 60 days of employment.
- DSP (Direct Support Professional) certification is preferred; obtaining it within 120 days of employment is required.
