ADT Direct Support Professional
Job Description
Department: Adult Day Training
Reports To: Floor Supervisor
Supervises: None
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
FUNCTIONS: Under the immediate supervision of the Floor Supervisor and the indirect supervision of the ADT Director, this position is responsible for providing skills acquisition training to individuals as identified in their IPP (Individual Program Plan). This position engages individuals in meaningful classroom activities in their designated areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Care and Services:
• Ensures all agency safety protocols are adhered to by individuals and staff.
• Responsible for safety and welfare of individuals in program
• Verbal and non-verbal interactions with individuals reflect caring and respect
• Promotes and insures individual rights upheld
• Provides direct care and duties for individuals at the ADT
• Assists in emergency situations and ensures all required documentation is completed.
• Provides 1:1 and group teaching and training to direct care staff
• Coordinates staff to engage in specific duties as designated on implementation plant
• Attends required monthly/annual meetings and trainings as assigned
• Maintains a person centered and least restrictive approach in individual care according to behavior plan and IPP
• Reports to immediate supervisor as needed
• Support and provide personal care as needed
• Additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Maintains a clean and safe environment at all times.
INFECTION CONTROL: Applies hand washing principles during daily work; demonstrates understanding of isolation precautions; recognizes signs and symptoms of infection and complies with the employee health program; demonstrates understanding of the process for identifying and handling infectious waste; maintains personal hygiene; complies with OSHA standards in the work place and demonstrates understanding of cross-contamination. Upholds ADT infection control policies.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Demonstrates active listening techniques, gains support through effective relationships, treats others with dignity and respect, seeks feedback and receives constructive feedback.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attends in-service and education programs as designated.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk: use hands or fingers; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop or kneel. The employee will assist to transfer residents of varied weights and sizes. The employee will follow facility protocol on use of mechanical lifts and transfer devices. The employee will assist in behavioral physical interventions as designated by behavioral plans utilizing emergency and PCM procedures.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Pass a Level II Background Screening, Local Law Screening and Abuse Registry Clearance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs
• Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
• 3 References
• Certification in CPR and First aid, kept current
• Certification in reactive strategy techniques, kept current
• Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
• Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace
Physical Qualifications:
• Be able to stand for long durations
• Be able to push/pull up to 20 lbs
• Be able to bend/kneel/squat
• Be able to lift 50 lbs
