Position Overview:
The Arc of Ventura County is seeking a strategic and compassionate Job Coach to join our Supported Employment team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by helping them secure and maintain meaningful employment in the community. As a Job Coach, you will be an advocate and guide, ensuring that each individual has the support they need to thrive in the workforce and achieve their personal and professional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empower and Support: Work directly with individuals with IDD to support their job search, employment, and integration into the workplace. Encourage independence, productivity, and job satisfaction, helping individuals develop the skills necessary to succeed in their roles.
- Personalized Coaching: Provide hands-on coaching, problem-solving, and guidance in various work environments to ensure that each individual’s goals are met. Facilitate their transition into the workplace and work to overcome any challenges or barriers that arise.
- Collaborative Support: Serve as a liaison between the participant and the employer, fostering positive relationships and ensuring communication is clear and effective. Work with the individual's circle of support, including family members, case managers, and other team members, to provide consistent guidance and track progress.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of each participant's progress, challenges, and achievements. Document observations and provide constructive feedback to help participants improve and grow in their roles.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using computers, smartphones, and tablets to document progress, communicate with team members, and manage job coaching tasks.
- Personal Qualities: Dependable, patient, and empathetic. Strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing work environments and participant needs. Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. Required to use personal vehicle for company business and to transport participants (Must be at least 25 years old.). It is mandatory to clear both state and federal background checks.

Pay: $16.50 - $19.50 per hour
