General Statement of Duties:
The Nursing Services Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director of Nursing and nursing staff, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This role encompasses managing informed consent processes, assisting with the implementation of the Plan of Corrective Actions, and coordinating medical appointments for the people we support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Ensure all informed consents are thoroughly reviewed and signed prior to starting psychiatric medications, adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain a secure and organized database for all informed consents, monitor expiration dates and proactively seek renewals.
- Coordinate with the Director of Nursing for timely completion of POCAs and aid in the submission of verification documentation to the Compliance department.
- Coordinate with the Director of Nursing for the timely completion of recommendations from the incident review committee and aid in the submission of verification documentation to the committee.
- Track medical appointments for individuals in the residential program to ensure proper coverage of the appointments by working closely with the Health Advocates and the Residential Coverage team.
- Follow up post-appointment to ensure continuity of care through effective communication with the nursing staff.
- Generate reports from the electronic health record system to assist the Director of Nursing related to metrics and compliance efforts.

- Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agency's Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies.
- Maintain and promote confidentiality in accordance with Agency policy.
- Comply with all aspects of the Agency's Safety Policy.
- Serve on Agency committees as assigned.
- Attend meetings as dictated by your job responsibilities and/or as assigned.
- Attend and complete all mandatory training.
- Adhere to scheduled hours and submit completed timesheets to supervisor on time each payroll period.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- A clean, valid NYS driver's license and an approved copy of a driver's abstract from the Department of Motor Vehicles must be available.

Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in healthcare is a plus.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
