I. SUMMARY
The Vocational Services Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the program plans for approximately 100-120 trainees (consumers) who have developmental disabilities, and ensure that the plans adequately meet the wants and needs of the consumers. They will oversee the Vocational Counselors (VoCo’s) who develop and write the day habilitation plans, develop goals, and assist trainees on a day-to-day basis and the Hab Assistants who provide services. Minimal requirements: BA/BS degree in psychology, sociology, education, human services or related field. Must become QMRP certified. You must have excellent verbal, computer and analytical skills, be a team player. Past work experience in programs serving adults with developmentally disabilities is required
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(include the following. Other duties may be assigned)
1. Assume accountability and responsibility for the Vocational Services Department.
2. Ensure program and services meet or exceed regulatory compliance.
3. Provide continuous quality assurance of vocational services.
4. Directly supervise the VoCo’s and Hab Assistants.
5. Hire, train, evaluate and otherwise manage personnel activity within the Vocational Services department.
6. Monitor all vocational rehabilitation reports and records for timeliness and accuracy.
7. Monitor the intake/enrollment/discharge process for the Vocational Program.
8. Assist in planning by providing input for annual department budget and goals.
9. Provide direct care assistance to participants (meals, counseling, first aid, SCIP and crisis intervention) if necessary.
10. Delegate coverage for department personnel in their absence.
11. Attend all department meetings and training, as required.
12. Advocate for individuals receiving vocational services.
13. Maintain positive relationships with other departments, programs and agencies.
14. Completes other assignments as directed by the Director of Business Development and Operations.
15. Work with the Vocational and Production staffs to help implement consumers ISP to achieve their valued outcomes and monitor consumer safeguards to ensure the person’s health and safety pursuant to their ISP.
16. Maintain an organized, clean and safe office.
17. Regulate and enforce all agency rules and policies.
18. Assure security of all confidential information on consumers, business customers and staff.
19. Participate in all required in-service training.
20. Assure that safety devices and procedures are constantly enforced.
21. Adhere to The Arc Otsego’s philosophies, mission and core values.
22. Perform all other duties as assigned.
23. This position requires at least three weeks (21 days) notice for voluntary resignation of employment
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vocational Services Manager oversees four Vocational Counselors and two Hab Assistants.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in psychology, sociology, education, human services, or related field. One year experience in programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS /REASONING ABILITY Must possess excellent verbal and analytical skills. Must be a team player.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar or line graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS Must have excellent computer skills.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
