POSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Manager of Internships oversees all aspects of internship programs, including their development, implementation, assessment, and outreach. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the services provided by internship coordinators and job coaches at The Arc.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Workforce Development, the Service Manager of Internships collaborates with employer and community partners to create successful internship opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Duties
· Serve as the primary contact in developing, managing and training interns at California Academy of Sciences
· Maintain a caseload and provide employment support services and educational training to interns.
· Ensure program implementation aligns with participant and agency goals and mission.
· Oversee daily operations of all internship programs across San Francisco Bay Area counties.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to support participants in achieving their career goals.
· Develop and deliver job readiness curriculum and content.
· Coordinate and facilitate meetings and events for participants and stakeholders.
Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities
· Recruit, supervise and train internship coordinators and job coaches.
· Ensure staff meet job expectations, reporting requirements, monthly utilization goals and tracking performance metrics.
· Identify training needs and develop and implement training plans for staff.
Conduct coaching sessions and performance evaluations for staff.
Cross-functional Collaboration
· Coordinate with the Intake Department and Job Development for service referrals, waitlists, and caseload management.
· Work with the Associate Director of Workforce Development and Associate Director of Job Development to research and develop new internship and employment opportunities.
· Collaborate with Employment Services managers and other departments to advance the agency’s mission and execute the strategic plan.
Stakeholder & Community Interaction:
· Participate in community events and relevant agency meetings.
· Build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners.
· Organize and facilitate participant annual meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.
Reporting/Finance Responsibilities
· Track and report program performance monthly, quarterly, annually to meet goals and budget requirements.
· Manage program funding streams and coordinate billing and reporting with finance and quality assurance departments.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
· Ensure programs adhere to funding regulations and maintain high-quality standards.
· Maintain data accuracy and compliance across Salesforce and other databases.
· Develop tools and systems to address compliance and quality assurance concerns.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
§ A minimum of one year’s experience as a job coach, internship coordinator or in a similar role is required.
§ Experience working with employment goals and in workforce development desired, but not required.
§ Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
§ Supervisory experience preferred.
§ Strong administrative, communication and computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams) and Salesforce.
§ Experience in professional settings is preferred.
§ Valid California Driver’s license, clean motor vehicle report, and acceptance as a covered driver by The Arc’s auto insurance company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Repetitive keyboard use; phone use, walking, standing, bending stooping and direct client interaction.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is primarily located at California Academy of Sciences (or other internship sites) and 1500 Howard Street, San Francisco. However, may require traveling to off-site meetings as required.
