RESIDENTIAL SERVICES DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
The Arc Westchester is the largest agency in Westchester County supporting children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities, including individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. Over 700 employees provide more than 2,000 individuals throughout the county with a broad range of innovative and effective programs and service designed to foster independence, productivity and participation in community life.
We are looking for a Residential Services Director that oversees the delivery of services to individuals living in agency residences and assists with ongoing operations of the residential department. The Residential Services Director is responsible for the administration, operation, census, and treatment of the entire residential program. This person must be a creative and effective leader. They should set a noticeable example that continues to build and promote a supportive and encouraging work environment between the staff and the staff/individual interaction. The Residential Services Director should motivate the staff to support each other and work together as a team. The Residential Services Director will report to the Assistant Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Clinical Team Leaders, and Community Living Coordinators.
- Effectively prioritize, delegate, and complete multiple assignments in a timely manner.
- Assist with fiscal management and analysis.
- Work closely with the Director of Nursing and other Residential Services Directors to ensure provision of quality services.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding individual consumers, employees, and as needed, administrative issues.
- Assist with the development of residential opportunities.
- Perform onsite visitations, observations, and inspections in the residences on a regular basis.
- Oversee the residential placement process including filling vacant beds in a timely manner.
- Must complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in psychology, social special education, public administration, health administration or a related human services field. At least 3 years of related supervisory or management experience and at least 2 years of clinical (i.e. psychology, social work, special education) experience. OR Bachelor's degree in a human services field (i.e. psychology or social work) and at least 10 years of management experience in residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities with significant administrative experience overseeing multiple residential programs.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and the delivery of person centered residential, habilitation and healthcare services.
