The Chief Human Resources Officer for The Arc Western Montana is a critical member of both the Executive Team and Human Resources function. This role guides and manages services, policies and programs for the entire organization while leading a high-performing team of three.
Position: Chief Human Resources Officer
Location: The Arc Western Montana and the Missoula Community
Competitive Pay:
· Salary: $78,000 - 90,000 (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
· Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on workers' compensation matters and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
· Manage employee relations, fostering a positive work environment through conflict resolution, handling employee concerns, completing investigations and managing performance improvement processes.
· Lead the Human Resources Department, including the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing development of HR staff to align with The Arc's goals.
· Guide training and development programs, ensuring all employees receive the proper training, from onboarding to ongoing skill development.
· Oversee the performance management system, driving employee growth and performance through development plans and feedback.
· Ensure compliance with all labor laws, including worker compensation, OSHA, ADA, EEO, and FMLA, minimizing legal exposure for the organization.
· Lead the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including overseeing salary structures, variable pay systems, and employee benefit plans.
· Develop and maintain a process for organization development, driving key initiatives such as succession planning and workforce development to support long-term business goals.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university.
· Minimum of four years ' human resources management and supervisory experience.
· Must be proficient with use of HRIS and other computer programs.
· Must possess valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Certificates or Licenses:
· PHR or SHRM certification is strongly preferred.
