This role is critical in ensuring the structural integrity and efficient operation of data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for installing rigid conduit, data cabinets, basket trays, and running pre-connectorized fiber while maintaining high standards of precision, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rigid Conduit Installation:
- Expertly bend, cut, thread, and install rigid metal conduit (RMC), intermediate metal conduit (IMC), and electrical metallic tubing (EMT) per project specifications
- Securely mount and fasten conduit to walls, ceilings, and pathways while ensuring compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Maintain proper conduit spacing, bend radii, and grounding to support fiber optic and power infrastructure
- Data Cabinet & Rack Installation:
- Install and align server racks, network cabinets, and distribution frames with precision
- Securely fasten racks to prevent movement and ensure long-term stability
- Cable Pathway Support:
- Design and install structured pathways including basket trays, cable ladders, and J-hooks to support both fiber and power cables
- Ensure pathway systems are optimized for future expansion and maintenance
- Fiber Optic & Power Cable Installation:
- Pull, terminate, and manage pre-connectorized fiber cables through rigid conduit and designated pathways
- Assist with power cabling when necessary, ensuring proper separation from low-voltage cabling
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Perform continuity testing, visual inspections, and certification of installations
- Adhere to BICSI, TIA/EIA-942, and NEC guidelines to ensure compliance and best practices
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of conduit runs, termination points, and as-built diagrams
- Document project progress and report any challenges or necessary modifications
- Proven experience in rigid conduit installation within data centers, commercial construction, or industrial environments
- Expertise in bending, threading, and securing rigid conduit (RMC, IMC, EMT) for data center infrastructure
- Hands-on experience in data cabinet, rack, and basket tray installation
- Strong familiarity with fiber optic cable routing, termination, and management
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and structured cabling diagrams
- Knowledge of NEC conduit requirements, grounding, and bonding for data center applications
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve conduit and cabling issues efficiently
- BICSI Technician, RCDD, or Fiber Optic Technician certification
- OSHA 10/30 certification for safety compliance
- Experience working in live data center environments with high security standards
- Proficiency in using conduit bending tools (hydraulic benders, manual benders, threaders, knockout punches, etc.)
