First Look: Social Media Creator, Men’s Journal (Contract)
Men’s Journal is a premier men’s lifestyle brand founded in 1992. We’re looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Social Media Creator to join our team, who’s competent across general interests (e.g. fitness, style, grooming, spirits, entertainment, gear, adventure, travel) and understands how to leverage social media to create eye-catching content that goes viral. You’ll be front facing and play a key role in shaping the voice of Men’s Journal on its social channels. Your main responsibility is to be on-camera talent. You’re expected to ideate, develop, and execute social media strategies that drive engagement, grow our audience, and increase brand awareness. This position will report to Men’s Journal’s social media lead. This position requires video editing experience and a track record of creating content that drives results, views, and social engagement.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base pay for this position is currently $27-34/hr. Actual pay will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You’ll Do:
Ideate, film, edit, and star in social media-optimized videos tied to cultural moments that resonate with audience. Content will pertain to men’s lifestyle topics.
- Transform long-form video into shareable, buzz-worthy content that sparks conversations and drives engagement.
- Develop and execute evergreen social video strategies across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
- Foster relationships with other content creators to collaborate and co-create content.
- Come with recommendations on what content we need to create more/less of.
- Collaborate with other departments to create shareable content.
- Use data-driven insights to support trend predictions and identify patterns that can guide creator strategy decisions.
- Manage and respond to comments and direct messages in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Work with other departments to integrate social media initiatives with overall marketing plans.

- Diligent and Proactive: We value individuals who take initiative and demonstrate proactive work habits. We seek someone who is committed to staying on top of tasks and deadlines, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Graphic Design: You’re comfortable using graphic design programs like Photoshop or Canva to create visually engaging Reel covers to generate engagement on video content.
- Video Editing Skills: While Adobe Premiere Pro experience is a plus, basic proficiency in video editing is a must. You have an eye for what makes great, engaging video content.
- Audience-Focused Adaptability: You have the ability to listen to the audience and give them what they want.
- Proven Track Record: Your previous video content has proven to generate views and engagement across various social media platforms, leading to brand growth.
What You Need to Know:
The Arena Group’s expected hourly pay range for this position is currently $27 - $34 USD. Actual pay may vary based on multiple factors including location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law.
- This position requires flexible working hours. While the primary schedule will be during regular business hours, availability for nights and weekends is essential to cover important events. A schedule will be provided in advance to balance peak event coverage with regular work hours.
